I have a passion for writing and a mind for law.

About Me

I am an attorney licensed to practice law in the State of New York. I'm also a freelance writer whose work has been featured in prominent publications, both local to New York and national. My business is all about combining these diverse areas of specialization to provide unique and highly valuable services to law firms and clients.

I went to law school at Brooklyn Law. My experience there was highly rewarding - I appreciated the intellectual stimulation the law provided, and I loved deeply considering the varied legal issues that crop up in cases, sometimes based entirely on what at first seems like an irrelevant or throwaway fact. I contributed several case studies to Gay and Lesbian Law Notes, a national legal journal, and wrote a thesis studying issues unique to same-sex marriages across state lines (this was pre-marriage equality).

While still in school, I started working as a law clerk for a general practice firm based in Brooklyn, and there I realized that legal research and motion drafting were, by far, my favorite parts of this profession.

After law school, I worked as a post-graduate fellow for a Manhattan matrimonial judge, where I received first-hand experience seeing how cases were decided. Eventually, I obtained a position with a prominent and esteemed Manhattan matrimonial firm, where I served as an associate for three years. In my time at that firm, I became the go-to "legal technocrat," providing excellent legal research and well-crafted motions whenever needed. If an emergency Order to Show Cause was needed within 24 hours, I was the guy the firm turned to, and I loved it.

In 2018, I decided to dedicate myself full-time to the parts of law practice that I enjoyed the most and frankly, was best at: research, writing, and appeals. I have written hundreds of motions and appellate briefs, and pride myself on producing persuasive, cogent, and well-reasoned arguments. In 2022, I also taught a continuing legal education course for the New York County Lawyers’ Association on the topic of motion and brief writing in family and divorce law cases. I have been named a Super Lawyers “Rising Star” for the last five years.

I am also active in various pro bono and activist legal causes. I have testified before the Commission on the Future of New York’s Courts in support of virtual and remote court, which increases access to justice and reduces costs. I have also testified before the New York City Counsel on issues of police oversight, and helped draft legislation that has been introduced in the Council to increase and strengthen oversight of police. I am an active member of the National Lawyer’s Guild, and have served as a protest monitor.
